Accessibility

We use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as our design and testing target for the wnysignco.com website. We apply these principles throughout the Site's design and development process. We do not use automated accessibility overlays as a substitute for addressing accessibility directly in the Site's code.

Meeting WCAG 2.2 AA is our goal and ongoing practice. We do not represent that the Site is fully compliant, certified, or free of all barriers. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continue to identify and address issues as they are found.

Features we have implemented include:

• Keyboard navigation: The Site can be navigated using a keyboard, with visible focus indicators on interactive elements.
• Color contrast: We design with color combinations that aim to meet WCAG AA contrast ratios.
• Image descriptions: Meaningful images include alternative text where appropriate.
• Labeled forms: Form fields are associated with text labels, and required fields are marked.
• Error messages: Form validation provides text-based feedback.
• Heading structure: Pages use a logical heading hierarchy to support screen reader navigation.
• Mobile zoom: The Site does not restrict zooming on mobile devices.
• Dialogs: Pop-up dialogs manage focus and can be closed with the keyboard.
• Reduced motion: The Site respects the prefers-reduced-motion setting on devices that support it.

Some areas of the Site may still present barriers. For example, third-party content embedded on the Site (such as the Instagram feed) is provided by a third party and may not fully conform to the same accessibility standards. We monitor these areas and work toward improvements where we have the ability to do so.
